Doesn't seem much different than the pineapple crazy back in the day
Rumor has it, that Pokémon cards are making a comeback as with Brilliant stars and Astral radiance added into the market
I didn’t close my eyes because I don’t know what holland looks like
Anyone else remember when the title for the video was original an NFT reference?
People want the monkey to go to the yacht
Whatever happened to nonfungible tulips?
I really need to read more about this period of Dutch history, so fascinating. Great video!
Damn..they changed the thumbnail and title from Non Fungible Tulips
WHERE DID THE NON-FUNGIBLE TULIP TITLE GOOOO???
loved the NFT reference
The problem with the housing bubble is that people need housing and they should be treated like a commodity as opposed to the investment they are today because current construction laws heavily dissuade the larger scale of house building we need.
Did they change the thumbnail?
WILLHELMUS VAN ORANJE BEN IK VAN DUITSE BLOED 🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
Please never say the word nft again
A lot of this sounds like options today, it’s not like I want 20000 shares of Microsoft I just want to sell that contract to someone else
Nice video!
As a Person living in the Netherlands it’s so weird to see the things you learned in school be talked about by a big YouTube channel from a different country and be watched by millions of people(maybe that’s how other people might feel when the history of their country is featured)
Wait wait wait wait wait. You can EAT tulip bulbs?!
When I closed my eyes and thought of holland, i pictured flowers. Not tulips though.
They predicted the crypto crash lol
(Granted, anyone with 2 brain cells and an iq above freezing could figure it out)
How does it compare to the aroid market of today? (Plants that used to be 20 bucks 6 years ago went up to 1000 bucks by last year, and while lower are still high)
Truly the original nft
haha you are going to be so wrong its hilarious 😂
I'm from the Netherlands myself and I must say, I'm surprised that you are making a series about this. It's such a small part of the Dutch "Golden" age, but certainly very interesting. I'm curious and exited to see what kind of things you will explain in the upcomming parts.
The most damning fact about NFTs: Humanity is just too damnable gullible to Word-of-mouth trade of objects of worth, for the desperate and ambitious wannabe billionares
4:37 remember affordable housing in the Netherlands?
The best thing about tulip mania is the netherlands stage in OutRun
Ironacly im from the netherlands🤣🤣
Reminds me of the retro video game boom of 2020.
Tulips are my favorite flower
Just tell the story.
the fact that nobody picked up on the red herring of the intro baffles me
Future Contract is not a same as Option Contract, in first you must buy, in secon you can resign and pay just a small fee for option.
2:31 Love the Dutch Fry.
Your use of NFT with multiple meanings made me laugh. This is a very interesting time period of which I only know a bit, so this should be pretty enlightening. The bubble fallacy is an interesting take, though.
Don't ever change this format. Keep the puns, twists and turns, memes and colorful narrative pls
I'm so absolutely disappointed at what this channel has become.
That theme song takes me back!
this is really similar to the southseas stock series they did
Don't forget the railroad stocks bubble of the 1800's
Mentioning the dutch ‘golden age’ without mentioning it was all off of the back of slave labour and exploitation, its also sometimes called the ‘blood age’ or the ‘grey age’
After 5 years this channel has gone to sh@t with garbage wokeness
Another story about a(n alleged) financial bubble, you say?
…It was Philip de Vrij
I want THE Walpole official NFT !!
Prof Anne Goldgar’s student here. Just wana mention that she’s awesome
I have aphantasia. XD
Non-Factual Take?
