I have a question for you So I have this friend who has this guide dog She said the same thing so I was confused but I listened I want to know why you don’t touch a guide dog?
I don’t understand the fascination of petting a dog which isn’t yours 🙈 I have a German shepherd and a malinois, why would I want to pet any other dog.
My older brother has a service dog so I've learned from him and the dog. Best to ignore the dog completely! Even if she's a family pet, she's still a service dog no matter if she's normal at home, she's not in public!
my younger brother has a service dog and the analogy that the organization gave when my parents went up to learn how to command the dog was that “the dogs are tools like a wheelchair and asking to pet someone’s service dog or guide dog while the vest is on and it’s working is like asking to take someone’s wheelchair for a ride”. my band teacher a few years ago also said “you wouldn’t pet a drug dog while it’s sniffing for drugs and working so you shouldn’t pet a service dog when it’s working”
Even if they are not a guide dog if you can please never pet an animal without the consent of the handler, it's rude and impolite, and it only takes two seconds to ask
I was very young (probably 5/6) and at that point I didn’t really know what being blind was so I didn’t realise I couldn’t stroke a working service dog so I was in a toy shop and I stroked the dog my mum told me off and I havent stroked a guard dog since
i had to do this today! someone was training a guide dog in trader joes and i knew to ignore them. petting/talking to the dog while they are at work prevents them from doing their job because it takes their focus away
We get the occasional service dog where I work, they're always so cute, but don't worry, we're good and leave then alone. We also have a trainer who brings dogs in training in occasionally
God, I always feel so awkward when I ask to pet a dog and then they have to sadly decline because it's a guide dog And then I see the thing, and I'm just embarrassed at that point lmao
I have a question for you

It's so weird to just start petting an animal without asking their human for permission first to begin with, even if it's not a service animal
Thanks. I didn't know what side to walk on. I always just stopped & let the person & dog go by me.
What's a guide dog?
thanks for the info!
Any dog, but definitely a working dog.
Aw oh no she working aw oh no how bout I work you cat 😸 lol 🤣😆
People, don’t touch animals that are not yours. Seriously, guide dog or not it’s always a stupid idea.
They really need to teach this in schools, also people need to learn that they can't just randomly pet someone's dog

Love you x

Me who is scared of dogs: no problem 🥲👍
I wave at any passing animal,no matter what, flies, dogs, squirrels, bees
Yep! Never pet a working dog because it will get distracted 😀
And random but exciting news! Im getting a dog just like the one in the video!

Impossible task. All doggies must be pet, especially good boys.
Way?
I may stop and talk to them a bit about the dog and other things but other than that I keep my hands to myself general purpose on that one really
Seeing people bothering service animals make me make, even if I have no need for one myself, because they are there for their handler, not to be cute
Have you run into any delivery robots, yet?
❤️

Bro was fighting for his life trying not to pet the doggo
Stand perfectly still and quite then when you walk past clap really loudly..
Are you allowed to ask if you can pet the dog?
Me: plz can I pet it
No
Me: ok bye
WHO SAYS STROKE
Me who has a phobia of dogs: "Mission accomplished"
My brother: sweating when trying to pass dog

Lucy, You look SO BEAUTIFUL today!!!;;

But i can say like:"That's a really cute dog" right?
This is why I got yelled at, wish I would have seen this before my situation
I always let a person pass, same as a mother with a pram and people on bikes. It's important to be respectful of other people.
Yes!! This is something I wish they taught in school of more ❤❤❤❤❤

Who on Earth just randomly pets a stranger's dog (any dog, not just a guide dog) without asking first?
