Dan Boneh: Blockchain Primitives: Cryptography and Consensus
Stanford professor Dan Boneh teaches “Blockchain Primitives: Cryptography and Consensus,” providing an introduction to the cryptographic foundation of blockchains and how developers can use them to build new types of applications.
Andreessen Horowitz’s Crypto Startup School brought together 45 participants from around the U.S. and overseas in a seven-week course to learn how to build crypto companies. Andreessen Horowitz is partnering with TechCrunch to release the online version of the course over the next few weeks.

nice lecture except for the unwarranted bashing of PoW. There are many reasons why, despite all the bad press that BTC is getting from this professor and others, BTC is still king, and will stay king for a long long time.

super garbage lecture. I learned a lot of mistakes and misconceptions. thank for the laugh
I'M NEW TO CRYPTO TRADING WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO GET STARTED WITH TRADE COS I'VE BEEN MAKING MY PERSONAL RESEARCH FOR A WHILE NOW I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TRADE ON CRYPTOCURRENCY?

Thank you!
Love this talk. Thanks Professor Boneh!
liked it
Awesome! Thank you 🙂
I don’t think this guy is genius. He has well understanding but the comments about proof of work. No.
Dfinity is an obvious rug pull fraud anyone learning their joke of a language ought to do something better w their time
Libra is not a consensual blockchain

Its sad this is considered "education" these days. Proof of stake is almost entirely centrally controlled. Defeats the entire purpose. Proof of work is agreeably horrible, but then calling proof of space "beautiful" is so irresponsibly dumb, its sad. Proof of space just takes the destructive energy of proof of work and instead uses sweatshop labor and manufactured physical computer parts namely hard drives. Sure rich Stanford snobs can ignore that proof of space is just as bad as proof of work for awhile as they avoid public realities. But it's irresponsible to "educate" people with such problematic and incomplete systems as if they don't have these issues.
The uses of Blockchain are seen to be lame, insignificant but still have these real problems. Your just selling convuluted scientology tech, that's this class 🤮
"students end up finding 10 bugs" LOL
Can you do a current state of SNARK in a full video series
goes to show how valuable that "impossibility proof" was
Love the passion. Fantastic walk through. Very exciting! Thank you 🙂
Awesome session!
what a great lecture!
I still didn't understand zero knowledge proof. I don't like being introduced to a concept without teaching how it works exactly.
REALLY REALLY, enjoyed it from Kenya 😊
It is crystal clear. Thank you!
The creepy scarf antenatally squeal because luttuce comparatively listen pace a precious chess. unaccountable, gray greasy great cellar
genius and amazing professor
Amazing teacher, thanks so much!
7:52 info: there is a Blockchain where the miner order is randomly find & also the transactions are queued as the per the request….i.e. no alteration like in Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc…
The Blockchain is EOSIO.
13:33 the EOSIO has reached a max. of 4000 txns/sec.. with EOS being the highest used for < 40% of capability.
17:27 Solidity is not the best language for Blockchain. Moreover, newer the language is, higher is the risk of bugs. EOSIO uses C++, which is a God Language since 1986. C++ has been explored way more times than Solidity, be it in terms of security.

This was awesome, thank you Dan, a16z, TC!
😍😍
Dan Boneh is great lecturer. There's fantastic Crypto I course from him on Coursera. And, of course, legendary Crypto II, which i've been waiting for 8 years now)
Lol I made the Carbon Logo 🙂
This guy is a genius.
Amazing, thank you very much.
No masks? Any followup studies of Covid on the participants?
great insight.. my notes tell me to buy more Sia
Ask any audience a question as to how many of the attendees have loans, credit, mortgage, securities etc. Everyone has one, in fact, everyone in United States has one, in fact, US economy runs on it. In the Blockchain world there is no concept of it … "it's not about there is no application yet" but it's more like, in physicist language, there is no mechanism.
Unless this is addressed, its just a novel idea.
18:26 Shouldn't it be Layer 3?
Besides GitCoin (https://gitcoin.co/), are there any other opportunities for developers and product people to get involved with blockchain hackathons?
Great presentation !
Are there any documentations, for these courses , plz share
Really cool stuff. Thanks for putting this on youtube for everyone 🙂
